BoardBuzz, a new web log (or “blog”) from the National School Boards Association, is an online forum for school board members and other education stakeholders to express their opinions. The site aims to address concerns raised by critics of public education, while providing timely education news and analysis about the current state of teaching and learning in America’s schools. Issues discussed in recent posts include the 50th anniversary of desegregation in schools, the increasing cost of health insurance for teachers, the rift over accountability, student progress in reading and math under NCLB, and school vouchers, among other concerns. Educators across the country are invited to sign up and share what they know with peers and colleagues. The BoardBuzz is updated daily by 11 a.m. EST.
