BP, a global producer, manufacturer, and marketer of oil, gas, chemicals, and renewable energy sources, is offering up to $2 million this year to teachers who submit creative classroom, after-school, extra-curricular, or summer activities focused on energy education and/or conservation. The grant program, called A+ for Energy, is open to any California K-12 teacher. Applicants are encouraged to think “outside of the box” when developing their program concepts. Grants will equal $5,000 or $10,000. Winners will be announced by Aug. 23.
