Nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in Ohio, especially those in communities where Verizon provides local telephone service, are invited to apply for competitive grants totaling $76,000 for workforce development projects. Verizon is seeking proposals that provide job training for individuals, including welfare-to-work and school-to-work training programs, as well as proposals that assist people with disabilities in acquiring computer skills through adaptive technology that prepares them to enter the workforce.
