Created for teens, by teens, “Streaming Futures” is a free online resource intended to help students make career decisions based on real-world advice from some of the nation’s most successful business executives and Hollywood celebrities. The site now contains more than 90 interviews with advice and comments from California Gov. and former action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger to journalism magnate Steve Forbes and Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg. According to developers, each 15-20 minute interview lends itself to a fast-paced, MTV-style program that today’s youth can actually enjoy while learning from. The idea, writes producer Joel Holland, is to blur the line between education and entertainment as much as possible. Top executives from the business, technology, law, art, marketing, journalism, and entertainment fields are represented. Streaming Futures is part of the Nortel Networks Kidz Online Program.
