From Pearson Education and Funbrain.com comes “The Math Brain,” an arcade-style video board game built to help children develop grade-appropriate math skills while having fun. The Math Brain is available free of charge to teachers, students, and families. The web site’s 25 interactive, online games align with each child’s level of knowledge to help develop skills in the areas of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and problem solving. The site mimics the play of popular entertainment video games, with players ascending to different “levels” after the successful completion of the previous game. Free registration to the site allows kids to return to their last point of play. Producers say more than 1 million children have registered since the site’s launch earlier this year.
