Students can tour Congress with Uncle Sam as their guide by logging on to this interactive web site courtesy of the Dirksen Congressional Center, a private, nonpartisan research and educational institution whose mission is to help people better understand the United States Congress and its leaders. Called “Congress for Kids,” the resource is intended to help students learn about the foundation of the federal government and how its actions affect U.S. citizens in their daily lives. On the site, students will find information and historical background related to the United States Constitution and the three branches of federal leadership, as well as an explanation of the electoral college and the broader federal election process. A series of interactive quizzes and classroom activities tests students’ knowledge of the federal system. The site is intended for students in grades 4-12.
