The Toshiba America Foundation is giving between 90 and 100 grants of up to $1,000 each for projects that improve science and mathematics teaching. Any K-6 teacher in a public or private school is eligible. Grants will be awarded to the teacher’s school and will be restricted for use by the teacher in his or her classroom. Not more than one application per teacher is allowed. Funds may be used only for the purchase of hands-on materials for students directly related to the planned unit. Computer hardware and field trip expenses may not be included in the budget.
