The New York Times reports that most of the telephones and computers donated to the Republican National Convention will find a permanent home in the New York City public schools now that the convention has ended. The equipment, worth more than $5 million, includes 1,200 cellphones from Nextel Communications. It also includes more than $4 million worth of phones and network equipment from Cisco Systems and $1 million worth of computers and other hardware from IBM. (Note: This site requires registration.)
