The Baltimore Sun reports that Andre J. Hornsby, CEO of Prince George’s County public schools in Maryland, took an all-expenses paid trip to South Africa in 2003 in his role as president of the National Alliance of Black School Educators. The trip was sponsored by Gateway and Plato Learning, which is currently trying to sell its math software to Hornsby’s district. The Sun looks at whether Hornsby’s relationship to Plato Learning constitutes a conflict of interest. (Note: This site requires registration.)
