Take a peek at the lessons learned during the federal summit on eLearning

Unable to attend the U.S. Department of Education’s Technology Leadership Summit entitled “Increasing Options Through e-Learning” earlier this year? Not to worry. Speaker presentations and white papers are archived on the summit’s web site for easy reference by school leaders. The conference brought together local, state, and national education leaders in July to explore the concept of virtual education–including distance learning, virtual schools, and other online education courses–and its potential to expand the opportunities for learning any time, any place in support of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). Speaker presentations detail best-practice eLearning solutions for meeting NCLB’s requirements regarding supplemental services, professional development, highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals, instructional options, and more. They also provide states and schools with e-friendly policy frameworks for funding, delivering, and assuring high-quality online education programs.
