Study: No progress in U.S. high schoolers’ readiness for college

The New York Times reports a study by ACT found that only 22 percent of U.S. high school students are ready for college-level work in English, math and science, while another 19 percent were sufficiently prepared in just two of the three areas. The findings indicate that schools have made no progress over the past 10 years in better preparing students for college. (Note: This site requires registration.)
