This program aims to establish the teaching and learning conditions necessary to attract and retain highly accomplished teachers, including National Board Certified Teachers, in hard-to-staff public schools. This grant program serves as a call to action to review and reform state policy as well as local district practices to enable states, districts, and schools to take full advantage of the leadership potential that accomplished teachers represent. Three to six awards of between $50,000 and $100,000 will be awarded to partnerships that take action at the state and local levels to establish policies, conditions, and incentives to ensure that high-need schools have fully credentialed, accomplished teachers capable of accelerating the achievement of all students.
