The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has added a new resource to its growing collection of tools for educators: another “literacy map” designed to illustrate how educators can meld lessons about Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy into the fabric of everyday classroom learning. The idea, according to the partnership, is to “assist educators in developing lesson plans for students that combine learning skills & with 21st-century tools, such as the internet and data analysis software.” The latest literacy map, designed for use with English curriculum, joins two others already available on the site–one for geography and one for math. Each of the PDF-style documents contains a list of potential core curriculum skills that can be addressed through exercises that teach ITC literacy, as well as sample student outcomes for accessing, processing, managing, integrating, and communicating information.
