The New York Times reports that more college applicants are starting to take the ACT in the hope that they can receive a better score than they recorded on the SAT. Recent changes to the SAT format have led to heightened anxiety about the test and are contributing to students’ willingness to try the ACT. Although most will score in about the same percentile on both the SAT and ACT, students find the ACT less stressful. (Note: This site requires registration.)
