Calif. town eager for student computer-refurbishing program

The Register-Pajaronian of Watsonville, Calif., reports on how a local community group is raising money through a photo exhibit to launch a technology redeployment program in Watsonville. The project, called Access to the Digital Economy, will give 100 middle-schoolers six weekly hours of training to refurbish computers that can be given to local families. Over the past four years, this same organization has refurbished about 1,000 computers in the Los Angeles area.
