The Athens Banner-Herald of Athens, Ga., reports on how the local Clarke County School District is hoping to control its technology costs without sacrificing the amount of computers available to students. The district is no longer receiving grant money that allows certain schools to have laptops for every student and teacher. As a result, it is redistributing the laptops throughout the district so that each school can have “classroom sets” and shifting toward more interactive whiteboards in the classroom.
