cNet’s News.com reports that the next Microsoft Windows release, dubbed “Longhorn,” will have some special features just for laptops. These include less reliance on hard-drive access for memory and a “mobility center” to control all laptop-related settings. Microsoft is finding inspiration for the new OS in the popularity of easy-to-use cell phones, which have taken hold in society at a much faster rate than laptops.
