Curriculum software having big impact on Texas high school

The Monitor of McAllen, Texas, reports on the increased use of computer software in local schools. Products from PLATO Learning and Kaplan were recently purchased by a high school in Pharr, Texas, for $475,000. The software is already changing the teacher’s role, and some in the community worry that it will have an overall negative effect on the students’ education.
