Texas district eager to give its teachers access to handhelds

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Birdville Independent School District of Haltom City, Texas, is eager to buy $55,396 worth of handheld computers, with the majority going to teachers for managing student grades and attendance. About 75 of the handhelds would be used by fifth-grade students for taking notes in class and short video projects. (Note: This site requires registration.)
