The York Dispatch of York, Pa., reports on the community’s overwhelming response to the district’s recent sale of 380 used Dell and Gateway laptops at Dallastown Area High School. Local residents were so excited about the low $150 and $100 prices that they camped out in front of the school the previous night just to be among the first in line. By 7 a.m. on the morning of the sale, 400 people were already in line to buy the computers. The district raised about $37,000 from the sale, but was much more pleased about giving something back to its community.
