The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports on complaints by several recent high school graduates who said the second-hand laptops sold to them as part of a refurbishing program by the Henrico County Public Schools system in Virginia either didn’t work or needed repairs. The students, all graduates of the school district, purchased the used Apple iBook laptops for $50 apiece with the understanding that they would get the same machines they had used during high school. But upon purchasing their machines, some said, the computers did not work and, in many cases, belonged to someone else.
