The Dallas Morning News reports that the FBI has ordered the Dallas Independent School District to turn over numerous technology contracts to a federal grand jury by Sept. 20. Federal officials are investigating possible improprieties in deals between Dallas ISD and a Houston-based company called Micro System Enterprises. The FBI wants to see details of a December 2003 contract in which the district agreed to distribute up to $125 million in eRate funds to a consortium of vendors led by Micro System Enterprises. The vendors had been hired to wire campuses across the district.
