The Arizona Republic reports that the Kyrene Elementary School District in Tempe, Ariz., is asking voters on Nov. 8 to support a $46.3 million bond issue that would give schools a major technology upgrade. The Kyrene Teaches with Technology Project, a pilot program that provides laptops and projectors to area elementary school classrooms, has been so successful that the district is trying to widen its scope. The wider community also appears to appreciate the program, since there has been no organized opposition to this proposal. (Note: This site requires registration.)
