Canadian teachers learning basics of GIS

The Jasper Booster of Jasper, Alberta, reports that local high school teachers have been given a chance to learn about how geographic information systems (GIS) can be incorporated into their curricula. ESRI Canada donated $50,000 in GIS software to the local schools, and then company representatives took teachers out to show them how GPS devices work in conjunction with GIS. The teachers are eager to take advantage of the many learning opportunities GIS technology affords.
