Great Britain’s Financial Times reports on a study by the Hackett Group that found little or no difference in the three major enterprise resource planning software systems: SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft. The review of these systems at “world class” companies found that any of these three vendors’ products can be used with equal results. “In terms of features and functions they are all very comparable products,” said Philip Carnelley of The Hacket Group. The study, however, did not look at the relative ease of implementation for these products. “I disagree fundamentally with this interpretation,” said one Oracle executive. “Of course it matters which vendor you choose.”
