S.C. school to compete on strength of technology

The Sun News Browns Ferry Elementary School in Georgetown County has been nominated by the S.C. Department of Education to compete in the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. Browns Ferry Elementary School Principal Peggy Grant said a big factor in the school’s success is technology. Students can take home wireless keyboards to do homework, and most classrooms have interactive whiteboards, which are like high-tech blackboards.
