The New York Times reports that Microsoft founder Bill Gates demonstrated a mock-up of his proposed cellular PC last month at the Consumer Electronics show. Gates believes that these types of cellular phones may be the answer to getting internet access to the poor in developing nations. The plan is an alternative to the $100 laptop plan proposed by the founder of MIT's Media Laboratory, Nicholas Negroponte.
