ZDNet reports that Research in Motion and NTP have agreed to a settlement which will preserve BlackBerry service. The $612.5 million settlement was announced Friday, March 3. Under the terms of the agreement, Research in Motion will receive licenses to NTP's patents. In addition, the settlement is a one-time payment, which NTP would not have to pay back in the event that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office eventually overturns NTP's patents......
