The SolidWorks STEM Educators grant will award SolidWorks Student Edition CAD (computer-aided design) software to U.S. educators in a new initiative aimed at improving students’ science and math skills and their interest in technology-related careers. The grant includes training and lesson plans to help teachers and faculty from middle school through college integrate the four separate disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for more effective education. Through 3-D modeling, virtual simulation, and online delivery, SolidWorks will provide examples in basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, art, economics, and new technologies. Teachers can use these examples directly in their classroom to reinforce core competencies and enhance students’ learning experience.
