USA Today reports that in a small-scale study presented at the American Educational Research Association’s annual meeting, 65 girls ages 15-18 were surveyed in 2004. Researchers found that females who self-identified as bullies used text messaging as the method of choice to harass their victims. These bullies chose text messaging 2-1 over email, websites, and instant messaging. About 45% of the girls surveyed reported being victims of cyber-bullying.
