Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell recently announced $1.2M in grants, awarded through the state’s Regional Career Education Partnership Program for Youth, to prepare high school students in 36 counties for future jobs. Pennsylvania’s program promotes career preparation for students throughout the state’s Workforce Investment Areas. This program partners with Project 720 high schools – one of Governor Rendell’s “Job Ready PA” workforce development initiatives – to strengthen career-related curriculum and encourage employers to support Pennsylvania’s vision for high school reform. The 12 grants provide $1.2 million for improving career-related education. Accompanied by an additional $1.1 million in private-sector matching funds, the entire investment reaches $2.3 million.
