TMCnet reports that a meeting organized by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Doylestown, PA, discussed improving the scope and speed of internet access in the county’s 13 school districts and three vocational technology schools. The BCIU is assembling a plan for a “Wide Area Network,” which they hope will be financed through state funds. The proposed high-speed system would connect the county’s schools to the Internet, Internet2, and each other, as well as help educators implement new programs.
