TMCnet.com reports that Dell has teamed up with the Cobb County School District in Georgia, to provide 8,000 notebook computers to teachers. The first phase of the program will send 5,600 computers immediately, and the remainder will be delivered by the end of July. The contract is valued at $10 million dollars, and provides for teacher training on the technology and how to integrate it into instruction. Teachers will complete an initial two-hour training course on how to use their Dell Latitude D620 notebooks, after which they will be able to use the computers both as an instructional tool, but also as a productivity tool at school or at home…
