News.com reports that The University of Abertay in Dundee, Scotland has opened up a school for hackers. The Bachelor of Science program will be named: “Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures” and will start in October of next year. The program will enroll about 30 students and will instruct students on how illegal computer attacks are performed, and how they can be stopped. The university said that it opened the course of study in response to the high demand for people with the high-level skills necessary to test corporate network security. The course description explains: “In the same way that police detectives need to know how thieves can steal, computer systems administrators need to know what hackers can do.” The university does add that it will be vetting potential students “very carefully.” …
