AVerMedia Technologies announced the winners of its AVerVision Document Camera Essay Contest. The contest asked teachers, administrators, or students to compile a 100 to 300-word essay describing how a document camera would benefit their classroom and submit the essay to AVerMedia. All winners will receive one of four AVerVision Document Cameras as well as an LCD projector provided by Hitachi America, who co-sponsored the prizes. Leah O’Daniel-Polanski, a math teacher at Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Ariz., was the grand prize winner and will receiver her choice of document cameras along with the Hitachi LCD projector. First prize went to Vince Tesi, a business and social studies teacher with Colts Neck High School in Colts Neck, N.J., second prize went to Grant Fossum of Chestnut Log Middle School in Douglassville, Ga., and third prize went to Martha Thorne of Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, N.C.
