Sci-Tech Today reports that Nicholas Negroponte, founder of the "One Laptop Per Child" non-profit organization, announced that the proposed "$100 laptop" will be priced around $140 at launch. However, he says that this is just a start price and eventually with volume, the price should drop to $100 in 2008, and could eventually drop to $50.
