The Washington Post reports that for the past several years, kids have been able to receive eMails at camp from loved ones, to be handed out with regular mail during mealtimes. Now, several technology companies are providing this service, as well as posting live video, scanning handwritten notes, and posting/sending digital photos. Many believe these services can help alleviate anxiety experienced when children go away for camp. Some warn however, that while it can cure homesickness, such constant contact defeats the independent spirit of summer camps and keeps children inside when they should be out experiencing the outdoors… (Note: This site requires free registration.)
