CNN.com reports that a new, “universal” memory chip is now ready for market. For years, the chip industry has sought the reality of a chip that combines the endurance of traditional memory with the ability of a hard drive to retain information while powered down. Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., announced such a chip, named MRA, or magnetoresistive random-access memory.
