The Baltimore Sun reports that at least three schools run by for-profit education provider Edison Schools Inc. have failed to show significant improvements, and, in some cases, saw a drop in test scores since being taken over by the state six years ago. The findings come just months after Maryland’s state superintendent proposed putting 11 more schools in the care of third-party providers, the paper said.
