Follett Software Co., a provider of software-based library and school management solutions, offered what it called a “sweeping set of improvements” to its Destiny Resource Management tool. Destiny v6.5 includes revised versions of all the major Follett school solutions, including Destiny Library Manager, Destiny Textbook Manager, Destiny Media Manager, Destiny Asset Manager, and Destiny Resource Management Solution. Library Manager now supports inter-library loans more efficiently, according to Follett, adding the ability to route materials automatically and view the status of requests. It also allows users to search for materials among multiple district sites and enables students to search for information from a database of more than 100,000 links to relevant, educator-approved web sites. http://www.follett.com

The expanding collection of materials offers 1,500 author programs, featuring original movies about the authors’ and illustrators’ work, interactive slideshows, demonstrations, and book readings, the company said. http://www.teachingbooks.net
