Casio awards funding to five U.S. school districts

Casio is awarding $7,500 in much-needed funding and technology products to five U.S. school districts as the result of the “Casio For Education” sweepstakes. The contest is part of a series of initiatives launched by Casio to help ease the financial burdens facing many school districts, and to help schools be able to provide students with innovative technology that is important for math and science education. The winning school districts – Bismarck Public School District in Bismarck, N.D., Anchorage Public Schools in Anchorage, Alaska, Cecil County Public Schools in Elkton, Md., Plano Independent School District in Plano, Texas, and Dr. Leroy Doig Intermediate School in Garden Grove, Calif. – will each receive a $7,500 grant. $5,000 of the grant can be used by the district to purchase Casio educational products, such as graphing and scientific calculators. The other $2,500 dollars can be deposited in the math or operating budget of the district to be used in whatever way the district determines.
