O’Keeffe & Company, Inc. announced Robert Dowling as the winner of its 2006 “Tech PR Idol Challenge.” Open to college seniors through seasoned business executives, the contest honors the best, brightest, and most creative minds in the technology public relations industry. The inaugural Tech PR Idol Challenge, requiring participants to create a public relations plan that would help attract reseller partners for a fictitious software company, brought in some 200 submissions from technology PR professionals and students. After reviewing the initial submissions and hosting two in-person finalist presentations, O’Keeffe & Company chose Robert Dowling, currently executive vice president at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, as the 2006 Tech PR Idol. Mr. Dowling presented his proposal in person to O’Keeffe & Company’s senior management team. O’Keeffe & Company awarded Dowling the $10,000 cash prize onsite. O’Keeffe & Company will host the Tech PR Idol Challenge again in 2007.
