LONDON, UK–August 21, 2006–Codian, Ltd., a leading manufacturer of video conferencing infrastructure products, announced today enhancements to the Codian IP VCR 2200 Series that increase its flexibility and ease of use. The IP VCR software release version 1.3 advances the management and export of content. Other important features in this release optimize Codian’s IP VCR for customers with multiple language requirements and highly divergent endpoints.
New with this software release are user-defined hierarchical folders that facilitate the creation and management of content. Each folder has its own auto attendant, giving users quick access to groups of recordings.
For customers wanting to prepare recordings for use in third party applications, Codian’s IP VCR now enables them to export H.239 data, video and audio, with flexible layout options, into a single, high-resolution MPEG file.
In response to the growing adoption of Codian’s IP VCR throughout Europe and Asia, this software release includes localization of the user and administrator web interface, online help and audio prompts into multiple languages.
Adding Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) broadens the range of clients that can actively access the IP VCR. Streaming support has also been expanded to include Microsoft® Windows Media® Player. Support for the wideband MPEG-4 AAC format ensures high-quality audio without consuming high network bandwidth.
“We have been very pleased with the broad acceptance of the Codian IP VCR,” said Mark Loney, Director of Product Management for Codian. “Our customers worldwide, both corporate and academic, are discovering that recording video conference sessions significantly broadens their outreach. Our new software release makes this powerful tool even easier to use and more compatible with a wider variety of endpoint software and hardware. We believe that ongoing enhancements to our product are an important component of our customer service.”
IP VCR software version 1.3 is available to current Codian customers by download from the Codian website at www.codian.com. Codian also announced today the release of a software update for its MCU 4200 Series, including important advancements in security features and enhancements for high-definition (HD) audio and video.
