BusinessWeek Online reports that Google Inc. has announced that it will begin allowing consumers to download and print classic novels and other obscure books that are in the public domain free of charge. Using its “Book Search” service, web users can find titles such as Dante’s “Inferno” and Aesop’s “Fables,” then download PDF files for later reading.
