This is the most prestigious award an NSTA member may receive. The Robert H. Carleton Award recognizes an NSTA member who has made outstanding contributions to and provided leadership in science education at the national level and to NSTA in particular. The award will not be given on the basis of the number of petitions from members, but on the basis of well-recognized contributions clearly beyond those considered adequate for Distinguished Service Awards. The award consists of a $5,000 prize; a formal citation; and a plaque. The recipient will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. Awardees will be honored at the President’s Banquet during the NSTA conference.
