COLUMBUS, Ohio – Elementary computer classes are now better than ever with SRA/McGraw-Hill’s release of the updated SRA TechKnowledge, an online, interactive software program designed to help Grades Pre-K-6 students become computer and technology literate.

SRA TechKnowledge is designed with a host of teaching resources and assessment options, so that teachers do not need to be technology experts to teach it. Its easy-to-follow, fun lessons keep students engaged and help them move independently through a variety of skills. Students learn computer basics, keyboarding, word processing, drawing and graphics, gadgets, presentation, spreadsheet, database, electronic reference, and Internet.

As part of the upgrade, teachers who use TechKnowledge from year-to-year no longer have to start classroom management from scratch. As students are promoted to the next grade level, TechKnowledge saves progress data from the previous year.

The process of enrolling students in the curriculum and managing student use of the program also has been simplified.

Finally, the User Guides for TechKnowledge have been updated to show how best to access new or enhanced features such as:

–Simplification of the Teacher/Class relationships

–Batch processing of end-of-year student promotion

–Access to historical progress data

–Updated tools that simplify changes to groups of students

–Enhanced class progress reports

–Progress reports correlated to curriculum standards
