(October 2, 2006)–LeapFrog SchoolHouse, the school division of LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., today announced that Gymboree Play & Music®, a provider of parent-child play and learning programs, will offer LeapFrog SchoolHouse products in two new programs designed to help children gain key skills in preparation for prekindergarten and kindergarten classes. As a result of the collaboration, Gymboree Play & Music will incorporate multisensory curriculum components from LeapFrog SchoolHouse into its programs in select locations this fall, with a nationwide rollout in early 2007. LeapFrog SchoolHouse offerings will be used in Gymboree’s new Level 7 School Readiness Program and the Gymboree Learning Lab.

At Gymboree Play & Music, 7 levels of age-appropriate classes help children ages 0-5 build the intellectual, physical, and social skills they need to be confident and successful learners. The new Level 7 School Readiness Program helps prepare, 3-5 year olds for school through activities that build confidence, encourage curiosity, and promote independent learning and problem-solving skills. The parent-optional Level 7 School Readiness Program will be offered at Gymboree Play & Music locations nationwide by early 2007. LeapFrog SchoolHouse products, including Imagination Desk® learning centers with headphones and one Read and Sing” Little Leap® plush, are used in class to introduce children to the alphabet in a multisensory way. Other components of the Level 7 curriculum include story and discussion time, arts and crafts, and group play incorporating Gymboree products and equipment specially engineered for a fun, safe, and unique learning experience.

During this hour-long program, parents and children use the LeapFrog SchoolHouse products to build essential skills such as letter and sound recognition, counting, and shape and color identification. The Learning Lab includes the LeapMat” learning surface, Imagination Desk learning centers, LeapPad® personal learning tools (PLTs) with headphones, and books from the All Around Me Storybook series and the Phonemic Awareness series.
