DALLAS, TEXAS, www.hitachi.us, October 9, 2006–Hitachi Software Engineering America, Ltd. today launched the new StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 for Mac® users. Expanding Hitachi Software’s StarBoard technology applications to a previously untapped user-base, the first U.S. release of StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 features updated annotation capability, rendering functions and a new pointer-pen tool for lines, arrows and other various shapes. LE Version 2.0 supports an Intel-based Macintosh.

Available now, StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 is compatible with Hitachi Software T-17SXL and T-15XL interactive panels, as well as both wired and wireless versions of all three FX Series interactive whiteboards: FX-63, FX-77 and FX-82. Similar to the Windows® version, LE Version 2.0 is easily operated using a two-button wireless pen that functions both as a mouse for easy menu access, and as a writing tool for annotation. Updated pen function allows LE Version 2.0 users to annotate using fancy pen colors and create lines, arrows, rectangles and other shapes. In addition to the pen-based control, LE Version 2.0 can be accessed via the function buttons located on the T-17SXL panel for quick and immediate operation. “StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 introduces the Mac community to the StarBoard Software technology which includes both a user-friendly presentation software solution and several interactive presentation hardware options,” commented Ted Wakabayashi, president, Hitachi Software Engineering America. “Not previously available in the U.S., LE Version 2.0 brings a greater level of interactive presentation capability with the ability to render objects such as pen-data, text, lines, arrows, ellipses and more.”

StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 boasts new and simple presentation creation, modification save functions–even across Mac/Windows platforms. StarBoard Software LE Version 2.0 features improved compatibility with the Windows-based StarBoard Software 7.1, allowing Mac users to easily load and work with files saved in version 7.1. Likewise, Windows-based users will be able to read and work with files saved by a Mac user in LE Version 2.0. LE Version 2.0 also includes advanced save features allowing users to “save,” “save as” and “export” to several file formats including PDF, HTML and JPEG.
