Albany, NY–November 22, 2006–VersaTrans Solutions, Inc. has joined the more than 2,400 active groups, organizations and individuals that have adopted a highway in New York State.

Volunteers from the pupil transportation software provider kicked off activities on November 10, 2006, picking up trash and debris along a two-mile stretch on Route 9 in Latham.

“VersaTrans is involved in many community service activities. Each employee is offered three hours of paid time off per month to participate in such pursuits,” said Training Director Julie Smithson. “Our volunteers have a true interest in keeping our environment clean and I was proud to be part of the team in our first Adopt-A-Highway outing.”

The organization is currently planning additional Adopt-A-Highway endeavors that will include a minimum of four cleanups per year for the next two years.

VersaTrans Solutions has an established history of humanitarian activity. Every year, the company donates both time and money to local charities such as Meals on Wheels, Holiday Adopt-A-Family, the United Way and blood drives. In 2004, the company was recognized for its efforts and awarded the distinction of ‘Most Philanthropic’ by the TechConnex group.
