CALGARY, ALBERTA — January 10, 2007 — SMART Technologies Inc. announces the availability of the Unifi 35 projector with built-in audio, video source switching and whiteboarding application. The Unifi projector is a short-throw, high-offset projector that reduces any distracting shadows. The projector was developed as a key component in the SMART Board 600i interactive whiteboard system, announced in June 2006, and is now available as a retrofit kit for customers who own a SMART Board 660 or 680 interactive whiteboard. The Unifi 35 starts shipping today.

The Unifi is easily and securely mounted on a wall above the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, optimizing room space while also reducing installation time and costs. With the press of one button, the Unifi On-Screen Interface allows users to select input sources and adjust projector settings. They can write over any video source with digital ink and capture their work to the ScratchPad whiteboarding application. Users can then save their work to a USB storage device.

"The Unifi 35 projector presents a major opportunity for SMART customers to equip their existing SMART Board interactive whiteboard with a projector that has leading features and performance benefits," says Nancy Knowlton, SMART´s CEO. "With the Unifi 35, SMART continues to strengthen and broaden the interactive whiteboarding experience, offering customers a robust multifunction projector that will optimize room space while improving productivity."

Features

Resolution–The Unifi 35 projector has native XGA resolution (1024×768 pixels).

Small footprint–With a small footprint and practical security features, the projector simplifies installation and saves space.

On-Screen Interface–Users can access the On-Screen Interface with one button, which lets them select different input sources, control the projector settings and access Help screens. The Unifi On-Screen Interface works with or without a connected computer.

Projector control module–Built into the pen tray of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is the power On/Off button, volume control for the audio system and Menu button to access the projector´s On-Screen Interface.
